The Mobility Manager will achieve excellent mobility management outcomes for all citizens in JAUNT's service region through information sharing, network building, customer support, and funding development, with specific attention to members of our local Spanish (and other minority) community and human service agency partners.

Collecting and Sharing Information

  • Research, maintain, and distribute a database of transportation options for Central Virginia
  • Provide information and/or training to local customers, human service agencies, and other organizations to help meet their transportation needs
  • Identify new communication methods/channels to better reach audiences
  • Work with the marketing specialist to develop effective outreach materials to promote transportation options

Building and Strengthening Networks

  • Participate in regular meetings throughout the region to identify transportation needs, promote transportation options, and facilitate coordination efforts
  • Build partnerships between organizations with transportation resources to foster cooperation, connect services, and better leverage resources
  • Identify opportunities for new coalitions and partnerships

Customer Support

  • Deliver personalized support and travel training to individual customers
  • Provide translation assistance for Spanish speaking customers as needed
  • Identify and provide outreach to the Spanish communities in JAUNT's service areas, which may include: presentations, participation in local events, active participation in relevant community groups
  • Serve as an advocate for citizens and human service agencies who contact JAUNT with concerns and questions.

Developing New Funding

  • Document special client requests and unmet transportation needs
  • Identify new agencies and other sources for grants matching unmet needs


  • Cross train in operations to develop the skills necessary to provide exemplary service to our customers, the local Spanish community, and human service agencies
  • Participate in JAUNT staff meetings, other agency activities, and statewide events for mobility staff as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

This position requires a minimum of an Bachelor's degree with solid human service and computer experience. Excellent oral and written communication skills expected. Able to meet deadlines and work under pressure and strong interpersonal skills. Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred.

Must have a valid Virginia Driver's license. Preference may be given to a candidate with an interest in securing a CDL

Employment is contingent upon successfully completing and passing a pre-employment drug screen.  Employment is contingent on a clean driving record that allows employee to be covered by JAUNT's insurance. Continued employment is contingent upon adherence to JAUNT's Substance Abuse Policy, including being subject to drug and alcohol screening, as well as on maintaining a clean driving record.

Further, those employees with direct contact with passengers with disabilities will be expected to exercise their training for passenger sensitivity, which includes securing passengers' wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during trip. As well as, being physically able to handle and assist disabled passengers in wheelchairs and assist disabled passengers into and out of vehicle.
